Registration for the Justin Mutton Bustin’ event at the 2012 Northwest Montana Fair is due by July 26. This crowd pleaser features children trying to ride a sheep from one end of the arena to the other, or hang on during the wild ride for more than six seconds.

Mutton Bustin’ will take place at the opening of all three nights of the Don K RAM PRCA Rodeo, scheduled for Aug. 16-18 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds.

This year’s event is once again sponsored by Justin Boot Company. No child will walk away empty handed. Justin Boots will award every competitor with a belt buckle and a bandanna, and the winner will receive a pair of Justin Junior boots.

To be eligible, children must be ages 5-7, weigh less than 55 pounds, and submit a completed parental consent form at the competition. Contestants must register by 5 p.m. on July 26 at one of these Kalispell locations: Western Outdoors, Murdock’s Ranch and Home Supply, CHS, or the fairgrounds office. Only 24 children will be selected to compete.

The drawing for contestants will be held at the Lil’ Buckaroo Roundup at the Kalispell Center Mall on July 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mutton Bustin’ and the Don K RAM PRCA Rodeo is just one of the family-friendly activities that will make the fair the crowning event of the summer. For more information, visit www.nwmtfair.com.
