Vehicle burglary suspects arrested in Post Falls

POST FALLS - The Post Falls Police Department has investigated 39 vehicle burglary reports since July 1 and investigators believe many of those cases have been solved with the arrest of three suspects.
Shaylynn Campbell, 18, Post Falls, and two juvenile males, also from Post Falls, were arrested on Monday for their alleged involvement in several burglaries.
"This apprehension will be a big part to solving a significant number of the burglaries we've had," Post Falls Police Chief Scot Haug said.
According to a police report, a resident reported seeing a male run from a home on Glidden Street in the Fieldstone area.
"The witness saw several suspects enter a green-colored Acura Integra and was able to provide responding officers with a partial Idaho license plate," a press release states.
Haug said the suspects had gone to the home, giving a story that they had lost a dog and needed assistance. While the resident was distracted, other suspects went to the backyard where they allegedly discarded items the night before while being searched for by police.
A short time later, officers spotted the suspect's vehicle at Greensferry Road and Seltice Way, where the vehicle was stopped.
"Officers immediately noticed items in the vehicle matching property taken in previous vehicle burglaries over the last couple days," the press release states.
A stolen wallet and debit card from a July 11 vehicle burglary were recovered.
Investigators are now tasked with matching property found in the vehicle to the multiple burglaries reported.
Haug said the burglaries have occurred throughout the city, but Fieldstone has been a hot spot. Most of the vehicles were unlocked, he said.
