A 40-year-old Kalispell man was sentenced July 12 in Flathead District Court to six months of house arrest and five years of probation after being convicted of his fourth offense of driving under the influence.
Benjamin Bowerman Jr. was involved in a three-vehicle accident on July 28, 2010, near the intersection of U.S. 2 and Poplar Drive. Bowerman explained to a trooper with the Montana Highway Patrol that his license was suspended, and then failed breath alcohol tests and field sobriety tests.
He eventually pleaded guilty to the drunk driving charge as well as felony criminal endangerment.
As a requirement of his house arrest, Bowerman is subject to alcohol monitoring and GPS monitoring.
Bowerman’s prior convictions for driving under the influence came in March 1991, March 1993 and April 2010.
