My name is Ken Akey, M.D. I am a Board Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

I am announcing my new SOLO practice in Post Falls, at 761 N. Thornton St., Suite A.

I had a very large/busy practice for more than 25 years in Orange County, Calif., (four miles from Disneyland).

I loved a "one-on-one" doctor/patient relationship, not using para-medical providers. My patients preferred it this way.

Thus our slogan "Where you only see a M.D."

As a Christian, I believe in helping parents provide a "moral compass" for their precious children. In this day and age, I believe this is critical.

My special interests are newborns, developmental pediatrics (behavior) and nutrition.

I enjoy Church activities, working out and am eager to spend time with my wife Laurie, my four grown children, spouses and three PERFECT grandchildren, enjoying this beautiful area!

Though I was told recently, by a member of the community, that "this area has two pediatric groups, and that is enough," I do not agree!

This area is grossly underserved, regarding Primary Care physicians! Our primary concern is to provide quality care for the children of Kootenai County, so here we go!

I look forward to working with my new families in this new and exciting Pediatric practice!
