OTHELLO - Hod rods, classic cars and slow drags were the main event in Othello last weekend as the city's 17th annual Spud Run rolled into town.
Decades' worth of rigs were on display, all buffed, shined and polished to show off their looks and their owners' enthusiasms.
"It was a good show," organizer Bob Dovel said. "It was, if not the biggest, the second biggest show we ever had."
Nearly 130 cars and trucks lined the lawn of Kiwanis Park, where hundreds of spectators showed up to get the low-down on the classic rides.
Car show results follow:
Slow drags: 1 Cheryl Olsen, Othello; 2 Derek Cantu, Othello.
Best of show: Angel Garza, Othello, 1970 Dodge Coronet/Super Bee.
Ladies' Choice: Charles McElwee, Bremerton, 1935 Chevy Three-Window.
Ford Roadster Pickup; 2 Coy Estes, Moses Lake, 1927 Ford Roadster Pickup.
'32-'48 car: 1 Coy Estes, Moses Lake, 1936 Hudson Terraplane; 2 Bill Templeton, Kennewick, 1940 Ford Tudor.
