The Glacier Twins AA remain winless in the month of July after dropping six Legion baseball games last week.

The Twins (6-41) were swept in a doubleheader at Great Falls on July 17, then swept again at Memorial Park in Whitefish last weekend in doubleheaders against Missoula and Medicine Hat. The Twins were outscored 61-15 over the stretch of six games.

The Twins put up a good fight against Medicine Hat in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader, despite ending with a 12-6 loss. Garrett Houston led the way going 2-for-4 at the plate with singles in the fifth and seventh innings.

Bryce Wehrli hit an RBI in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Twins’ deficit to three runs. A two-run single by Houston in the fifth fueled another Twins comeback, but Medicine Hat tacked on seven runs in the final two frames to put the game away. Houston finished with two RBIs. Nathan Carr was 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Glacier dropped a pair of games to Missoula on Saturday, 0-8 and 3-15. Peter Seymour crushed a three-run homer to left field in the first inning of the second game to give the Twins an early lead. His home run scored Carl Talsma and Cory Davis. Seymour finished with three hits, including a double and three RBIs.

At Great Falls, the Twins fell 2-4 and 1-9. Nick LaGrandeur tossed seven strikeouts after four innings of work on the mound in the 2-4 loss. He threw 11 first-strike pitches.

The Twins play next on July 25 at the Kalispell Lakers. They will host the Class AA Legion baseball state tournament Aug. 1-4 at Memorial Field.

The Twins will open the tourney Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. The championship game is set for Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.
