LIBBY — The Libby Loggers recorded 20 hits on Saturday, but came away with a split in a non-conference American Legion doubleheader against the visiting Rocky Mountain Bandits of Cranbrook, B.C.

The Loggers won the first game 8-4, but fell 7-4 in the nightcap.

“Our first game (Jared) Winslow pitched. He made a few mistakes in the sixth and they ended up scoring. But other than that, he was really solid,” said Libby coach Kelly Morford.

“Jared and Micah (Germany) — and the rest of the top half of our order swung really well and produced some runs for us.”

Germany was three-for-four with two RBIs and Winslow was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI in the game.

“The second game, we were a little bit flat, energy wise, but they had a good outing from their starting pitcher,” Morford said.

Libby did get the tying run to the plate in that game, but couldn’t get any runs in, he added.
