Quincy high student arrested for bomb threat

QUINCY - Quincy police arrested a 16-year-old male Quincy High School student who allegedly threatened to bring an explosive device to school.
Police received information concerning the student and arrested him in the early hours of Wednesday morning for "threats to bomb or injure property," according to Quincy Police Sgt. Paul Snyder.
No explosives were found when the juvenile was taken into custody, he added.
The juvenile is currently being held at the Grant County Youth Center pending further investigation.
"Because the suspect is a juvenile we will not be releasing his name," a Quincy police statement read. "The Quincy School District and the Quincy Police Department are working together to ensure the safety of the students and faculty at the Quincy High School as the investigation continues."
