North Valley Baptist Church, 1750 Talbott Road, will host a sports camp for children in grades 1-8 on June 11-15 from 9:30 a.m. to noon with 3-on-3 basketball and 6-on-6 soccer. A $50 gift certificate will be awarded to each team member on winning teams. For more information, call 892-3141.

Run Flathead race is fundraiser

Run Flathead will hold its first annual Herron Half Marathon and 10K Race on Saturday, June 9. showcasing new and existing trails in the Herron Park complex. Proceeds will go to the Foys to Blacktail Trails nonprofit to secure permanent public access to lands between Herron Park and Blacktail Mountain. Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
