An elegant summer evening on Lake Coeur d'Alene awaits those wanting to support the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County.
Duane B. Hagadone, chairman of The Hagadone Corp., and his wife, Lola, will open up their Casco Bay property on Tuesday, July 24, to help bring the nonprofit to its fundraising finish line for its facility under construction in Post Falls.
"The Hagadones are graciously sponsoring 100 percent of the costs for this event, so all proceeds will benefit the club," said organizer and club board member Linda Rohlinger, adding that the cost for tickets is tax-deductible.
The fundraiser includes a cruise to the Hagadones' property, heavy appetizers and a hosted bar on the lawn, music, live auction and spectacular views of the lake and the estate's gardens.
"The gardens feature more than 300,000 plants and flowers and are peppered with walking trails, rock formations, extensive water features and pristine landscaping," Rohlinger said.
More than 20,000 annuals were planted this year.
"It will take your breath away," Rohlinger said.
Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased at www.bgc-northidaho.org. Those wishing to pay with a check instead can call Val Wilcox at 691-4675.
VIP tickets, which include a limousine ride to the party, a private reception with the Hagadones and a private tour of their estate, are $2,000 per person. For VIP tickets, call Rohlinger at 819-9988.
Two cruises - departing at 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 from The Boardwalk Marina adjacent to The Coeur d'Alene Resort - will transport attendees to the gala. Check-in begins at 4:45 p.m. The cruises will return to the marina at 8:20 p.m.
Attire for the event is resort casual. Flat shoes and a sweater are recommended.
The live auction items include a helicopter ride around Lake Coeur d'Alene with dinner at either Beverly's or The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course for up to five people and an evening cocktail cruise under the stars on Hagadone's 60-foot, one-of-a-kind, high-tech Sizzler sailing yacht with dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants for up to eight people.
Tickets to ride the Sizzler to and from the fundraising event are $250 per person.
Yachting World calls the Sizzler "Idaho's Hot Rod" and Robb Report nicknamed her "Lone Wolf" due to her exquisite design and meticulous craftsmanship.
"All of the proceeds from this night will benefit the Boys and Girls Club, and we appreciate the Hagadones for helping put together this first-class event," said Ryan Davis, the club's executive director. "It will be a huge boost for us."
The club's 10,000-square-foot, $1.3 million facility next to the Post Falls Library is expected to be completed between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The nonprofit offers after-school and summer programs to kids ages 6-18.
