Joan and Harvey Vinson

60th Anniversary

Joan and Harvey Vinson will be celebrating their 60th anniversary on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

Known as Jo and Vince, they met in Santa Rosa, Calif., at a football game and it was LOVE at first sight. They were married on June 12, 1952, in San Carlos, Calif.

Jo and Vince have four children: Chris, Kristi, Bruce and Evonne. They have seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and one pug.

Vince was in the military for two years prior to marriage. After marrying they spent 23 years together following where duty led. They were stationed at many bases in the states and even spent two years in Guam. After retiring from the military, they moved to Post Falls and have spent the last 37 years enjoying all that Idaho and a successful marriage has to offer.

Mike and Sandy Badger

50th Anniversary

The children of Mike and Sandy Badger are proud to announce the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents on Saturday, June 9, 2012. The family will honor their parents in a private family celebration.

Mike and Sandy were married in South Bend, Ind., on June 9, 1962. They began their married life in Coeur d'Alene. Mike was a smoke jumper and Sandy was a teacher.

Together they raised three children and now have nine grandchildren. For the past 30 years they have founded, owned and operated three Badger Building Center stores.

ENGAGEMENTS

Olson-Agostinelli

Wendell and Teresa Olson, of Post Falls, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Kristen Olson, to Aaron Agostinelli, son of Gino and Linda Agostinelli of Post Falls.

Kristen graduated from Post Falls High School in 2000 and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in kinesiology. Aaron graduated from Post Falls High School in 2005 and graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in psychology.

A wedding is planned for Saturday, June 30, 2012.

Buttrey-Stevens

Craig and Jodi Buttrey are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Buttrey, to Kody Stevens. Kody is the son of Kevin and Julie Stevens of Dalton Gardens.

Kody and Amanda are both 2010 graduates of Coeur d'Alene High School. Kody attended North Idaho College and is studying accounting. Amanda attended Spokane Falls Community College to study exercise science and was also part of the women's basketball program.

They will be married Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, and will be moving to Boise to attend Boise State University and further their education.

BIRTHS

Halle Grae Hatfield made her grand appearance at 2:55 p.m. May 19, 2012, to Drue and Darrin Hatfield of Hayden. She weighed 9 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20.75 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Debbie and Duane Dlouhy. Paternal grandparents are Connie and Jim Hatfield.

Oliver Michael-Allan Bowen was born at 8:01 p.m. May 24, 2012, to Amanda and Peter Bowen of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 inches long. Brother is Kenneth. Maternal grandparents are Carole Lynn and Butch Whetstone. Paternal grandparents are Joan and Burton Bowen.

Ava Lynn Ross was born at 7:08 p.m. May 31, 2012, to DeAnna L. Hubof and Kenee Ross of Post Falls. She weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 inches long. Brother is Kailas Jon Ross. Maternal grandparents are Jon Hubof and Debbie Glaze. Paternal grandparents are Steve Ross, Debby Williams and Ray Williams.

MILITARY

USMC Lance Corporal Corbin J. Smith, son of Doug Smith and Debbi Smith, has recently been appointed to the 3rd Amphibious Assault Battalion Alpha Company based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. LCPL Smith graduated Guide and Honorman of Hotel Company on Oct. 21, 2011, and received a Certificate of Commendation. He graduated with the achievement of Guide and Honorman from Marine Combat Training on Nov. 28, 2011.

On April 16, 2011, LCPL Smith graduated from Amphibious Assault School Crewman Course as the Guide and Honorman earning the Gung Ho Award (Most Motivated Marine), and received a Certificate of Commendation. LCPL Smith has earned outstanding scores as follows; 292/300 Physical Fitness Test, 300/300 Combat Fitness Test, 330/350 Expert Rifle Score. LCPL Corbin J. Smith will deploy Sept. 12, 2012, for Okinawa, Japan, for a nine-month tour.
