Cheryl Burroughs, 46

Cheryl Burroughs, also known as Cheryl Horne, passed through the heavenly gates on June 2, 2012, at Kootenai Medical Center after a long battle with numerous rare blood disorders. She was born on Jan. 28, 1966, in Los Angeles. She was raised by her mother Wanda Roach Hayeur in the Springfield/Portland, Ore., area.

Cheryl met her soul mate Brad Horne and in 1996 they moved their combined family to Coeur d'Alene. They owned and operated Horne's Petro Stop n Shop working together while raising their children Erica, Andy, Alicia, Brian and Matt. They sold their property in Coeur d'Alene and moved to their present residence outside Harrison. Cheryl managed the family business "Brad's Lawn Service" while working at Hunters Restaurant and Susie's Bar and Grill for many years. She met and loved so many people through these endeavors.

Cheryl volunteered much of her time working for the causes that were true in her heart. She was an advocate for organ donation and cancer survivors. She donated thousands of hours of her times to those around her.

She will be remembered for the love, strength and kindness that she gave to others. Survivors include her life partner Brad, three sons Andrew Burroughs, Matthew Burroughs and Brian Horne all of Coeur d'Alene; a daughter Erica Whalen of Coeur d'Alene, eight grandchildren, sisters Patti Burnette of Springfield, Oregon and Cathy Brown and a multitude of relatives and friends. Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother Wanda and her beloved daughter Alicia.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Lake City Community Church, 6000 North Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.
