Kokanee fishing continues to be excellent at Lake Chelan. When you drive into town you will see most of the boats just up from Lakeside Park and out I the middle. That's where big schools of the fish are located and trollers are pounding away at them.

You will also see a few boats up toward the blue roofed condo about where Pat and Mike's sits. There are big schools of kokanee in this area, too, and anglers are finding them from 70 to 120 feet. They are trolling with an orange Macks Lure squidder, or lures of this type in anything from bright pink to purple.

Those that are tied with large hooks very closely spaced are finding that they are landing more fish. Single hook lure will attract strikes but more kokanee shake off the single hook rigs. The Wedding Ring spinner lures with two hooks are working very well, too, but if you have the single hook style Wedding Ring I would suggest that you tie leaders with two hooks. Play around with bead colors. The Double D dodgers placed ahead of the lure work well, and Flash Lites also get the kokanee's attention. Boat speed should be from 1 to 1.3 mph.

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
