EPHRATA - A $10,000 bench warrant was issued for a former Moses Lake attorney.

Theodore Mahr is facing charges of third-degree theft and three counts of unlawful practice of law in Grant County District Court.

Mahr was disbarred in December 2010 after the Washington State Supreme Court found Mahr took money to represent clients in immigration-related matters. The attorney did little or no work on the cases, including not filing forms, missing hearings and in one case, forging his client's signature, according to the Washington State Bar Association's website.

The former attorney was reportedly posing as a lawyer at the Moses Lake Library using the name Tom Bar, Prosecutor Angus Lee stated Monday.

"Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the authorities," he stated. "Anyone who has been a victim of this type of activity should contact the local authorities or send a letter regarding their incident to the prosecutor's office."
