Giant cherry pie centerpiece of George's Fourth of July.

GEORGE – The community of George invites you to its annual Fourth of July Celebration, which will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at the George Community Park.

This free, all-day event includes the famous George, Washington Giant Cherry Pie, which is served free to all takers for as long as it lasts. It's one of the biggest pies in the world every year and lasts only about and hour.

The George, Washington Giant Cherry Pie is prepared by the Georgettes, a group of women organized to beautify and promote the community. The Georgettes will serve the pie at noon.

Other events at the George Fourth of July will include the Cherry Bomb Fun Run, Breakfast at the George Community Hall Kitchen and Grand Parade.

There will be a patriotic presentation at 11 a.m. with a special address by Dr. Matt Manweller, the Central Washington University    professor who is running for the state legislature as a Republican.

There will be live on-stage entertainment throughout the day with the Line-Dancing Grannies, North Country Bluegrass, Darnell Scott & Desert Blues Band, and more.

Another attraction will be the Stars, Bars, & Classic Cars Show, and there will be an Open Air Market with vendors of all sorts, including food.

There will be children's activities, games and contests. There will be fireworks at dusk
