ANNIVERSARIES
Neal and Jodi Robertson
25th Anniversary
Neal and Jodi Robertson will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on June 20, 2012. They met in ninth grade Algebra class at Lakes Junior High School but didn't start dating until high school. They were married on June 20, 1987, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d'Alene.
Jodi and Neal have three children: Colton, Caden and Connor who are by far their greatest accomplishments. Neal and Jodi have lived their entire married life in Coeur d'Alene where they enjoy camping, boating, spending time with family and friends, and going to all of their children's school and sports activities.
Neal has been employed with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department for 24 years. Jodi has been employed with Edwards Smith Construction for the last 16 years; prior to that she was employed with the Coeur d'Alene Greyhound Park.
Jodi and Neal plan on spending their anniversary celebrating with family and friends.
Doug and Ranel Burnett
30th Anniversary
Doug and Ranel Burnett, of Rathdrum, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2012. The couple, along with their children Ryan and Tyler, recently returned from a family vacation to Florida and Washington, D.C., to celebrate this occasion.
The couple met in 1979 while attending Washington State University and were married at Haller Lake United Methodist Church in Seattle on June 12, 1982. They have been residents of North Idaho since 1995 and both work at The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
WEDDINGS
Matthew-Baxter
Justine Camille Matthew and Tyler Mitchell Baxter, both of Liberty Lake, Wash., were united in marriage May 7, 2012, at Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint. Pastor Fred Bosse conducted the ceremony. Justine was given in marriage by her brother, Rob Matthew.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Matthew (deceased) and Cinde Matthew. The groom is the son of Dave Baxter and Terri Rhuby.
Justine graduated from West Valley High School in 2003, Arizona State University with a degree in journalism and business in 2007 and sought pre-med education at Montana State University in 2011.
Tyler graduated from Lake City High School in 2001, Southwestern Oregon Community College in 2003, Washington State University in 2005 and obtained his doctorate of physical therapy at Eastern Washington University in 2009 practicing at North Idaho Physical Therapy in Post Falls.
A reception will be held in the summer of 2013.
The couple are planning an August honeymoon in Placencia, Belize, and will reside in Liberty Lake.
Sampson-Hamrick
Elwanda Sampson and Wes Hamrick, both of Post Falls, were united in marriage on June 7, 2012, in Palmer, Alaska. Commissioner Brian Kincaid conducted the ceremony.
Matron of Honor was Jean Sampson and best man was Frank Stewart, both of Palmer.
Music for the reception was performed by The Valley Balla-Dears - the couple's musical duo singing act from Post Falls.
The couple plans to reside in Post Falls.
MILESTONE BIRTHDAY
Bob Thomas
97th Birthday
Bob Thomas, of Post Falls, will be observing two anniversaries in June: His 97th birthday and his 81st year as a member of the Grange.
Bob was born in Iowa on June 18, 1915. He moved to Filer where he grew up on a farm and married Barbara Sheridan, then moved to Buhl where he served as manager of the Buhl Co-op Supply. Two children were born in Buhl - Jeanette, now of Post Falls, and Ray, now of Sequim, Wash.
The family moved to Coeur d'Alene when he was appointed as general manager of the Co-op Supply (now Cenex). Thomas resigned from the Co-op when he opened his business of insurance and real estate. He retired when he sold the business.
Barbara passed away shortly after their 64th wedding anniversary.
BIRTHS
Lund Christian Richards was born at 6:10 p.m. May 23, 2012, to Paige and Lars Richards of Hayden. He weighed 7.2 lbs. and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Halsey and Chris Buell of Bayside, Wis., and Cocoa Beach, Fla. Paternal grandparents are Larry and Marta Richards of Bend, Ore.
Isabel Elizabeth Ann Moss was born at 7:55 a.m. May 30, 2012, to Stephanie Dunbar and Jerome Moss of Post Falls. She weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Brother is Hunter Moss. Maternal grandparents are Steve Dunbar and Deidre Davis. Paternal grandparents are Jeff Moss and Robin Moss.
Violet Elizabeth Bernell Schilling was born at 12:19 p.m. June 6, 2012, to Mercedes Carter and Hunter Schilling of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 8 lbs. 1.2 oz. and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Shirley and Dave Carter. Paternal grandparents are Cherri and Walter Schilling.
MILITARY
Marine Corps Pfc. Sean D. Kaschmitter, son of Wendy C. and Sam D. Kaschmitter of Coeur d'Alene, recently reported for duty with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152, Marine Aircraft Group 36, Okinawa, Japan.
Kaschmitter is a 2011 graduate of Idaho Virtual Academy in Coeur d'Alene and joined the Marine Corps in June 2011.
