Loggers earn split in Legion play

LEWISTON - Ethan Brandt went 3 for 5 and scored two runs as the Coeur d'Alene Loggers beat Lewis-Clark 18-5 in the second game to split a North Idaho League class A American Legion baseball doubleheader Monday night.

Sam Schultz and Colby Kennedy each went 2 for 5 for the Loggers (5-5, 2-2 NIL). Derek Griffin struck out four and allowed six hits and four earned runs in six innings to earn the victory.

Lewis-Clark won the first game 14-9. Griffin was 2 for 4 with two doubles, and Carter Chaffin also doubled.

The Loggers play host to Missoula today in a 1 p.m. doubleheader at McEuen Field.
