SPOKANE - Tony Davidson allowed two hits through five innings and struck out five as the Prairie Cardinals beat the Spokane Cannons 9-1 in a pool-play game at the Best of the Northwest tournament on Wednesday at University High.
"Tony threw a lot of strikes," Prairie coach Dustin Frank said. "It was probably his best outing of the year. He was really effective and did a great job for us."
Joe Schwalbach hit a two-run double in a five-run fourth inning for Prairie (8-6), which hosts the Twin City Titans today at 12:30 p.m. and Lobos (Ore.) at 3 at Post Falls High.
"It was pretty much a team effort," Frank said. "Everyone throughout the lineup had a hit. We only struck out once and we put the ball in play a lot and made some things happen."
