Catch more fish.

Catch bigger fish.

If that interests you, and it should, you'll want to head to Black Sheep Sporting Good starting Friday and through Sunday.

"The Berkley Experience Trailer" and the Cannon and Humminbird demo truck will both be at the store just off U.S. 95 and Seal Avenue.

For three days, Black Sheep will have special promotions, sales, seminars, classes, demonstrations and new products on display.

"We've got some pretty outstanding values," said manager Brian Knoll.

Experts from Berkley will be on hand - with their 53-foot trailer - teaching people how to catch more and bigger fish.

It is, Knoll said, their largest fishing event in the past 10 years.

He said having Berkley and Humminbird on site will be a great opportunity for veteran anglers and those looking to get their first fish to learn more about the sport.

"We have been trying to get them to come to our area for a good many years," he said.

There will be seminars on reel maintenance, line selection, rod basics and bait, including plastic vs. Powerbait vs. Gulp!

Backlash 101 will cover setting up your reel to minimize backlashes.

Hummingbird will have new product demonstration on the latest Cannon downriggers and new fish finders.

The event runs 10-6 Friday through Sunday, and Knoll encourages folks to stop in and check things out.

Fishing authorities will be on hand to answer questions throughout the day, along with the seminars.

Along with in-store products and deals, a large tent will be set up in the parking lot.

Whether you've never cast a line or have hooked hundreds of fish, you won't want to miss the Berkley experience.

"It's definitely going to be worth people's time," Knoll said.

What the retired curator will tell you is each of the hundreds of crosses in the “Cove of Crosses” has a story to tell. They came from near and far. From children in an orphanage to men in prison. From the beaches of Normandy during World War II to homes in Jerusalem. From Muslims in Australia and from students in Coeur d’Alene.
