PHOENIX - After falling 2-1 at the hands of WPFC Black on Tuesday, the Idaho Thunder U18 boys soccer team was mathematically eliminated from contention at the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships on Wednesday.

The Thunder concluded the tournament with a 2-0 loss to the HSC Bulls Ka'ula from Hawaii.

The Sting U14 Gold team played to a 0-0 tie with Legends FC of Washington to finish the tournament 0-2-1.

The Sting U15 Gold lost to the Eastside FC of Washington 5-0.

"We did not play well in the first half," Sting U15 coach Dan Hogan said. "It was a game that we decided we were going to wipe out of our history. It was one of those games."

Both Sting teams were mathematically eliminated from contention for the quarterfinals in pool play.

"Overall, it was a good learning experience," Hogan said. "We learned how to deal with an opening loss and came back and played well against a good team. Being out of it, it was tough to get motivated today."
