Libby's Winslow fans 14 batters; Mission Valley's Evertz totals 18

LIBBY — Jared Winslow notched 14 strikeouts, walked one batter and checked the Moscow, Idaho, Blue Devils on four hits to lead the Libby Loggers to a 4-3 come-from-behind victory on the second day of their Big Bucks Tournament.
Micah Germany had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a team best two RBIs.
Winslow, 2-for-4, had the other RBI. He also had the walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh when Libby scored twice.
It was the second tournament win for the Loggers.
“It’s exciting for the kids to comeback in the bottom of the seventh,” Libby coach Kelly Morford said. “It’s a good sign about their mentality. It’s been fun.”
Luke Haggerty also had two hits for Libby.
The Loggers (15-14) play the Mission Valley Mariners in tournament play tonight at 7:30.

LIBBY — Mission Valley’s Justin Evertz turned in a superb effort on the mound against Moscow, Idaho, during second-day play at the Big Bucks Tournament.
Evertz held Moscow to three hits, struck out 18 and issued just three walks over seven innings for the victory.
“He threw phenomenal,” Mission Valley coach Jami Hanson said.
“He was throwing knee-high strikes.
“He had his breaking ball working real well, his change-up was excellent today,” Hanson continued.
“He was very tough to hit and had pinpoint accuracy today.”
Evertz, Zeke Webster-Yaqui, Chris Clary, Robbie Gauthier, Jacob Young and Dalton Molzhon all doubled in the contest.
Webster-Yaqui was the RBI leader with two.
Mission Valley (26-3)made it 2-0 on the day with a come-from-behind win over Rainer, Wash. Mission Valley scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to pull it out. Clary smacked a walk-off double to right center to score Webster-Yaqui and Evertz.
Bradley Pichler pitched the final two innings to earn the win.
Gauthier, Webster-Yaqui and Evertz were all 2-for-3. Webster-Yaqui led in RBIs with three and Clary drove in two runners.

MISSOULA — The Glacier Twins AA (6-21, 0-5) had a big day at the plate, racking up 12 hits against the first-place Mavericks, but couldn’t turn that production into runs.
All but three Glacier batters had hits in the game, led by Peter Seymore, who had went 3-for-4, and Bryce Wehrli and Carl Talsma, who batted in the Twins’ two runs.
