Mary Margaret McGraw, 83
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 10 months AGO
Mary Margaret McGraw was called home to Jesus on June 21, 2012, in Coeur d’Alene. She was born on July 2, 1928, to James and Annie (Sheppard) Benouf at Robinsons, Newfoundland, Canada.
Mary became the “war bride” of Fred Wallace of Kellogg in 1951. After his tour of duty in Newfoundland, they were transferred to Parks Air Force Base in California. Later they moved to Coeur d’Alene, where Fred passed away in 1956.
She met and married Bill McGraw in 1967; he passed away in 2001.
Mary enjoyed many activities: golfing, bowling, dancing, knitting, fishing and camping with her family and friends. Family was precious to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and, later, her great grandchildren. She worked at Lake City Lanes and CDA Public Golf Course, and retired from Montgomery Ward in 1985. She was a volunteer for Kootenai Medical Center for many years until health conditions forced her to quit.
Mary is survived by her son Peter Renouf (Dora) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and her daughter Clara Boller (John) of Hayden; four grandchildren: Gary Renouf (Cindy), Chad Renouf (Tara), Carrie Butterfield (Rob) and Cory Boller (Michelle); nine great grandchildren: Ben, Mathew, Maddie and Josh Renouf, Robby and Ashley Butterfield, Michael, Kaitlin and Cory Jordan Boller; brothers: Neal, Sandy and Andy Renouf; sisters: Isabel Brown and Margaret Young.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents James and Annie Renouf; her brother John; sisters Sarah, Marie, Ida and Ida Rose; husbands Fred Wallace and Bill McGraw; and great grandson Jordan Cory Boller.
The family prefers memorial donations to St. Pius X Catholic Church or Hospice of North Idaho. A Memorial Mass will be held at noon, Thursday, June 28, 2012, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 Haycraft, Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
