Banking on East Sherman
Nils Rosdahl | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 12 years, 7 months AGO
The business part of downtown will move a touch farther east as Idaho Trust Bank occupies the building at 622 E. Sherman on July 2.
With seven employees, the bank's new facility (moving from its Northwest Boulevard location) will include 14 free on-site client parking spaces, a drive-up teller window and a night depository. A drive-up ATM will be added. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Founded in Coeur d'Alene in 1994, the wealth management bank provides deposit accounts, cash management and loans to professionals, small businesses, non-profits, families and individuals. Wealth management services include investment management, trust and estate administration, asset protection, business succession and retirement planning.
"The mission of Idaho Trust Bank is to help our clients create and preserve wealth for generations," said CEO Daniel Prohaska. "The bank had the second-highest earnings performance for Idaho-based banks in first quarter 2012 and earned 1.27 percent return on assets. The strong earnings were based on 30 percent year-to-date growth in the bank's wealth management business as clients established a personal relationship with the bank."

Jewels on Fourth Street
Adding to her 2-year-old kiosk in Silver Lake Mall, Penny Cain has opened her Jewels store at 2022 N. Fourth St.
She said she offers "very inexpensive jewelry, more than 300 necklaces, jewelry boxes, rings, sunglasses, hats and cuties' doggie bling-bling."
Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Silver Lake Mall and 1:30-6 p.m. in the store across from Dave Smith Motors, both Tuesday through Friday. Phone 699-8091.
Salon 1034 on Third Street
Organic colors, perms and retail items are the specialties of Salon 1034 now open in Suite 3 of the Healing Arts Center at 1034 N. Third St. (just north of Safeway).
With other professionals joining owner Diana Clark, services include nail work and massages. Clark has 18 years' experience in the salon business. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and by appointment. Phone 818-4582.
New businesses in Riverstone
Although they probably won't happen until August, new businesses are coming into Riverstone.
The 5,000-square-foot space on the corner of 2010 Main St. (across from Regal Cinema) will have GrooveBerries Self-Service Frozen Yogurt on the north and Bullman's Wood-Fired Pizza on the south. Renovations are under way in the spaces. Both will have indoor and outdoor dining.
According to Chris Schreiber, associate broker with Kiemle & Hagood Co., two more tenants will be announced in the next two weeks or so followed by two more toward the beginning of August.
Work is also busy on the riverfront location of LePeep Restaurant in the ground floor of Riverstone's Bellerive Condos. Watch for a late-July opening.
We'll have details on all these as their openings near.
Now for the Tidbits
• A new antique store will open soon at 212 N. Fourth St.
• You'd think with its water emphasis that Coeur d'Alene would have a Taco Del Mar.
• Style note, adding to last week's about titles. Titles by themselves are not capped, even president and pope. They are capped in front of a name, of course.
• Whine of the week: People need to trim/prune their trees and bushes that hinder sidewalk pedestrians.
• Caterpallor: The color you turn after finding half a worm in the fruit you're eating.
