Shodair soccer

Columbia Falls High School soccer player Cedar Jordt will play center-midfielder for the Women’s Team East in the July 28 Shodair Soccer Classic game at Carroll College, in Helena. She is the only Class A soccer player from the Flathead playing in the event. The game will start at 5 p.m. The event is a benefit for the Shodair Children’s Hospital. Golf team

The Columbia Falls High School golf teams will have their first meet on Aug. 9 this year. Players who want more information about golf camps and clinics, contact coach Gene Marcille at 249-3693.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
