EPHRATA - A Moses Lake man is accused of driving into a house and attempting to run over a man following an argument.

Prosecutors charged Brandon L. Stratton, 28, with five counts of second degree assault, driving under the influence and hit and run in Grant County Superior Court, according to court records.

Grant County Superior Court Judge John Antosz set bail at $15,000.

Stratton and the alleged victims presented different versions of the event. The victims told police Stratton was drinking alcohol with a former roommate and a woman when he reportedly began to say offensive things, according to a Moses Lake police report.

Stratton's former roommate allegedly told Stratton to leave several times, but the man refused. When Stratton reportedly attempted to hit his former roommate, he punched him several times before grabbing him and pushing him out the door, according to the police report.

Stratton reportedly rammed the house with his vehicle, prompting the other man to contact his present roommate. Stratton reportedly came back to the residence, and attempted to force his way in. The people in the house allegedly scared Stratton off by threatening to get a gun. The alleged victims didn't have a gun at the residence.

After Stratton left, he reportedly tried to hit one of the house's residents with his car when the man went to talk to him about paying for the damage to the house, according to the police report. The man allegedly had to dive out of the way of Stratton's vehicle.

The group reported following Stratton to his residence, where he tried hitting one of the victims a second time, according to the police report.

Stratton denied any of the events, telling police he was walking home when his former roommate and the other people allegedly attacked him, according to the police report. He reported getting into his vehicle and driving away.

The responding officer noted Stratton reportedly appeared drunk, according to the police report. Stratton allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .094 about an hour after the officer received the call.
