Curtis tosses one-hitter for Lums

TRAIL, British Columbia - One night after watching his teammate throw a no-hitter, Coeur d'Alene pitcher Grant Curtis struck out five and allowed one hit as the Lumbermen swept the Trail Jays 7-1 and 13-1 in a North Idaho League "AA" doubleheader on Thursday.
Curtis, who played this spring at the Community Colleges of Spokane, also hit a two-run double in the first inning of the opener for Coeur d'Alene (20-3, 6-0 NIL), which opens the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene Wood Bat Classic against the Pullman Patriots on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at McEuen Field.
In the second game, Jesse O'Hagen had two doubles and four RBIs as the Lumbermen beat the Jays in six innings.
"For traveling up here, it takes a little while," Coeur d'Alene coach Lloyd Duman said. "After doing that, I thought we played really well."
Brett Robbins went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Suraj Kedia hit two doubles for Coeur d'Alene.

COEUR d'ALENE - Elliot Sparks struck out 11 in the first game and Michael Hicks had three hits and two RBIs in the second game as the Coeur d'Alene Lumberjacks swept a Spokane American Legion League doubleheader at Canfield Middle School.
Nathaniel English had two hits in the first game and Connor Cardinel struck out five and allowed three hits in the second game for Coeur d'Alene (18-3, 15-0 league), which faces the Eagle Vipers in the Canfield Pod of the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene "A" Wood Bat Classic on Wednesday at 8 a.m.

CHATTAROY, Wash. - Coeur d'Alene pitcher Dominic Conigliaro struck out nine in a complete game win in the first game of the Lakers Spokane "A" American Legion East Division split against Riverside.
Cody Garza went 2 for 4 with an RBI in the first game and scored two runs in the second game for Coeur d'Alene (10-6, 9-3 league), which hosts Mead today in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. at Lake City High.
