Alexi Amarista launched a grand slam with two out for his first major league homer, capping a six-run rally in the ninth inning off Houston closer Brett Myers and lifting the visiting San Diego Padres over the Astros 7-3 Thursday night.

Pirates 5, Phillies 4: Casey McGehee hit a three-run homer during a five-run first inning as visiting Pittsburgh beat Philadelphia. Ryan Howard went 2 for 4 with three RBIs batting cleanup for the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws in his first rehab start since rupturing his Achillies in Game 5 of the Division Series last year.

Rockies 11, Nationals 10, 11 inn.: At Denver, Marco Scutaro hit a walk-off single as Colorado beat Washington.

Diamondbacks 3, Braves 2: Chris Young hit a tiebreaking homer in the ninth, lifting Arizona at Atlanta.

Mets 3, Dodgers 2: David Wright hit a solo homer and RBI double as visiting New York handed Los Angeles its fifth straight loss.

Giants 5, Reds 0: Madison Bumgarner took a no-hitter into the sixth as San Francisco beat visiting Cincinnati.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Angels 9, Blue Jays 7: Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo hit two-run homers as Los Angeles won at Toronto.

Tigers 5, Rays 2: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Max Scherzer struck out seven in six innings and Miguel Cabrera had four hits and two RBIs as Detroit beat Tampa Bay.

Rangers 7, Athletics 6: At Arlington, Texas, Ian Kinsler had four hits, scored three runs and stole two bases as Texas beat Oakland.

White Sox 4, Yankees 3: Dayan Viciedo hit a three-run homer as Chicago rallied at New York.

Indians 7, Orioles 2: Johnny Damon and Asdrubal Cabrera hit three-run homers and visiting Cleveland beat Baltimore to end a five-game skid.
