POST FALLS — Post Falls Police investigators are seeking information about an attempted burglary at the Ross Point Chevron near the Highway 41 interchange on Wednesday.

Police responded to the gas station for a report of an attempted break-in that occurred at 4:44 a.m.

When officers arrived, they located a damaged utility box on the rear of the store. It was obvious that the suspect was attempting to cut the phone service to the building.

During the attempted burglary, there was an employee inside the store preparing to open. As she was working, she heard two loud bangs on the locked front doors.

Because the store was closed, the employee walked up to the front of the store and looked outside in time to see the possible suspect vehicle drive off.

Security camera footage shows the male suspect approaching the front glass doors of the store and uses a crow bar or similar tool to try to smash the door.

After two attempts, the male walked to the west of the store and left in a black SUV-style vehicle. The vehicle appears to be a 1990s Chevy Blazer with a damaged back window on the passenger side. Something was on the roof of the vehicle.

The vehicle left the business and headed east on Seltice Way toward Coeur d'Alene.

Those with information should call PFPD at 773-3517 and ask for Detective Mark Goodwin. Anonymous tips can be left at www.postfallspolice.com.
