COLUMN: Just more liberal rant
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years, 11 months AGO
In Dr. Justin StormoGipson’s liberal, progressive rant about presidential hopeful Rick Santorum’s religious beliefs concerning conception and life in Friday’s “My Turn.” StormoGipson argues that life actually begins at egg development not conception. However, he believes personhood should decide when human rights begin. Who decides when personhood begins? I interviewed several doctors for a paper on abortion and received opinions ranging from conception up to 2 years of age for personhood!
The whole article is a ruse to detract from the real issue. This progressive liberal hopes you will focus on contraception rather than the real issue of religious freedom. Obama has been attacking our constitutional freedoms founded in the Bill of Rights since taking office. The real issue is simple. Does a president have the legal right to force the Catholic Church to provide contraception against the teachings of the church? The Constitution’s first amendment makes clear the right to religious freedom. I’m not Catholic and I support contraception, but I’m appalled by these Obama inspired attacks on religious freedom.
In a speech given by Obama, he stated that America is no longer a Christian nation but a Muslim nation. As Christians we must prove him wrong in November.
