POLSON — K-Kids, a group of philanthropic fourth graders at Linderman Elementary, raised $456.80 for Mission Valley Aquatics after two weeks of collecting change in piggy banks and selling hot chocolate twice to their classmates as they circled the school’s walking path.

“It feels good to give a donation like that, especially when it’s big,” said Gabe Merganthaler, one of eight K-Kids on the project’s fundraising committee. “It’s nice to help other people and it will be really fun when the pool opens.”

This was the second year for the piggy bank fundraiser, with Mrs. Burghardt’s class taking the top prize thanks to a hefty $100 individual donation.

“Mrs. Farnstrom’s class had the most change,” said Iris Crumley. “It was filled to the brim.”

Note from the Newsroom

It won’t be long now. I know it’s only March, and another big snowstorm wouldn’t be unheard of, but we’re on the up-swing now, and it’s about time.
