Lodema Jones

Lodema Jones (Dec) 91, longtime resident of Moses Lake passed away Tuesday February 28 attended by her loving husband, Selden. Born Lodema G. Kennerd on May 11, 1920 in Billings, Montana she lived in Billings until she graduated from Billings High School. She met Selden, the love of her life, while working for F. W. Woolworth in Billings. They were married in 1938. Three children followed, Ron Jones, Moses Lake, Gordon Jones, Trafalgar, Indiana and Marcia Hietala, McCall, Idaho.
She was a member of Rainbow girls in her Jr. High and High school years and as an adult she was involved with the Order of Eastern Star.
Selden's position as a manager with Western Auto Supply carried them to several locations in the Western US. In 1960 they purchased the Moses Lake Western Auto Supply and worked side by side in partnership until their retirement in 1980. She always put her special merchandising touch on the kitchen and gift areas of the store. They made many friends throughout their Western Auto years and traveled to Hawaii and Puerto Rico on the company after winning several sales awards. Dee and Seldon loved to travel and made trips all over the country to see the sights and visit family and friends.
She loved her home and garden and spent many hours outside in the yard and on their patio. In retirement she spent some time oil painting for pleasure turning out some beautiful landscapes, sunsets and floral works. She and Selden were also active in the Merry Mixers social dance group. Dee loved her family and enjoyed sharing in all their activities.
She is survived by her husband, three children, four grandchildren, Scott Jones of Spokane, Ian Jones of Moses Lake, Ryan Hietala of Boise, Idaho and Stephanie Pagen of West Melborne FL. Six great grandchildren Taylor and Tareyn Jones of Spokane, Noah and Leighton Jones of Moses Lake and Joey (JJ) and Nicholas Ray Pagen of West Melbourne, FL.
A celebration of life gathering for close family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at Faith Larkin Adult Care Home, 1608 Bemis St., Moses Lake beginning at 11:00 AM.
