Turkey permits; season begins April 14

Montana’s spring male turkey hunting season begins April 14.

The deadline to apply for a Montana spring turkey permit in some Montana counties is March 8.

The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission has also expanded some general turkey hunting areas in western Montana.

Applicants, must have a 2012 conservation license to be eligible to apply, will find the spring turkey permit areas in FWP Regions 2, 3, and 4 listed on the application.

There is a $5 application fee.

Resident and nonresident turkey permit application forms are available on the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov.

Go to the Hunting page, click Licenses and Permits then Applications.
