Annual meeting is set; officers will be elected

The Flathead Electric Cooperative’s 75th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Members’ Meeting will be held March 17 at the Christian Center, located at 255 Summit Ridge in Kalispell.

Registration and refreshments will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a short business meeting to commence at 10 a.m.

There will be prize drawings and child-care provided. Members in attendance will learn about the financial stability of the Co-op and Flathead Electric’s continued focus on power supply, rates and energy.

Candidates running for Board of Trustee positions also will have a chance to address the group.

Also, two $500 scholarships will be awarded at the meeting to area high school seniors planning to enroll at an in-state college or university.

To be eligible for the drawing, the students’ parent or guardian must be a member of Flathead Electric Co-op and the student and parent or guardian must be present at the meeting.

Three seats on the Flathead Electric Board of Trustees are up for election this year.

Incumbent Trustees up for reelection are: Emery Smith (District #2-Lower Valley), Jay Downen (District #3-Whitefish, Big Mountain, Olney) and Alan Ruby (District #5-Kalispell, North of Highway 2).
