Spokane adds Robinson,
Clark to active roster
Defensive back Jamal Robinson was re-added to the 2012 roster, while wide receiver Steven Black was added to the Physically Unable to Perform List, the Spokane Shock announced.
Robinson (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) was in camp with the Detroit Lions earlier last season. A first-team Conference USA honoree at Houston, Robinson had 107 tackles with six interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown.
Spokane also added wide receiver Daron Clark to the roster.
Clark (5-7, 165) has professional experience in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes (2010) and the United Football League (2009) with the New York Sentinels.
Prior to his professional career, Clark played offense and special teams at Stillman College. As a senior, Clark returned 11 punts for 128 yards and a touchdown and as a receiver, had 20 receptions for 418 yards and three touchdowns.
Spokane opens the season Monday against the Iowa Barnstormers at the Spokane Arena.
Cheff to be inducted into
National College Baseball hall
Former Lewis-Clark State baseball coach Ed Cheff will be inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the College Baseball Night of Champions celebration June 29-30 in Lubbock, Texas.
Cheff, who retired in 2010 after 34 seasons with the Warriors, was one of seven individuals named to the 2012 class, joining Nomar Garciaparra, Lou Brock and Brad Wilkerson.
Cheff led the Warriors to an unprecedented 16 NAIA World Series titles and is the NAIA's all-time leader in victories at one school, posting a 1,705-430-2 record at LCSC and was named the NAIA Coach of the Year eight times.
His total ranks second to Wichita State's Gene Stephenson's 1,763 wins for the most victories with the same program.
During Cheff's tenure, LCSC played in 11 consecutive World Series championship games, winning eight. The Warriors went to the series 28 times under Cheff and finished fourth or higher 25 times.
