State candidate filings

This afternoon, there are some new additions to the Idaho Secretary of State's list of candidates seeking election in Kootenai County's legislative districts.

District 3

Fred Meckel, of Rathdrum, has filed as a Republican candidate for the state representative's position now held by Bob Nonini, R-Coeur d'Alene. Jeff Tyler, also a Republican, previously filed his declaration of candidacy for the state House seat Nonini now holds.

Nonini is seeking election to the state Senate in the district.

District 4

Luke Malek has filed as a Republican candidate for State Representative, Position A. Incumbent Kathy Sims, R-Coeur d'Alene, has filed for State Representative, Position B.

Incumbent John Goedde, R-Coeur d'Alene, and independent challenger, Jeremy Boggess, have filed for election to the state Senate seat in the district.

Idaho's Congressional District 1

Democrat Jimmy Farris has filed. Previously declared candidates include Republicans, Reed McCandless, of Moscow, and incumbent Raul Labrador. Rob Oates, a Libertarian, has also filed.

District 2

There are no new filings at this time.

Incumbent Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, and Republican challenger Fritz E. Wiedenhoff are running for state senator.

Incumbent Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens, and challenger Mark D. Fisher, a Republican, have filed for election to State Representative, Position A.

Democrat Dan English and Republican Ed Morse have declared their candidacies for State Representative, Position B.
