Moses Lake police responded to a report of gunshots heard at a residence on East Hill Road Sunday just before 1 a.m.

Three males reportedly forced their way into a house in an attempt to steal narcotics, resulting in an altercation between the homeowner and the suspects, Moses Lake Capt. Dave Ruffin said.

The homeowner, Gordon Beeman, 54, reportedly shot two of the men using a 40 caliber handgun allegedly brought into the residence by the intruders.

Mario Martinez Angeles, 19, George, was shot in the left hand and Edgar Aguirre Hernandez, 23, Selah, was shot in the left shoulder, Ruffin said. Both men were treated at Samaritan Hospital before being booked into the Grant County Jail.

Martinez Angeles was arrested for robbery in the first degree. Hernandez was arrested for burglary in the first degree and robbery in the first degree.

A third intruder fled the scene and has not yet been identified, Ruffin said.

Beeman was booked for felon in possession of a firearm and manufacturing marijuana after police reportedly discovered between 300 and 400 marijuana plants growing inside the residence along with a .22 caliber rifle, Ruffin said.

The case is still under investigation and people with information are asked to contact Sgt. Mike Williams at 509-764-3887 or 509-762-1160.
