Alyce M. McLeod 87, of Troy

Alyce M. McLeod, 87, of Troy died Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Libby Care Center from natural causes.

She was born May 18, 1924, at Plum Creek, Minn., to Axel and Edla Nelson Carlson.

Her early years were spent in logging camps. Her family later settled in Squaw Lake, Minn., where she would attend school. Alyce attended a business school in Cut Bank, Mont. She married Phil McLeod on Feb. 11, 1960, in Seattle, Wash.,

They owned and operated McLeod & Associates Insurance Co. in Seattle for many years.

In 1990, she moved to Troy, Mont. She went to work for the U.S. Forest Service in 1993 and worked until 2005 when he retired for good at the age of 76. She enjoyed sewing, and collecting clowns.

At one time Alyce modeled her hands in a Dove commercial. Her husband Phil preceded her in death in 1989.

Survivors include her children Robert McLeod and wife Teresa of Troy; Nancee Tallmadge and husband Rick of Troy; Diane Hudson and husband Stan of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren Sarah, Nicole, Brandon, Jessica, Erin, Ashley, Justin, Katie, and Tyler; two great-grandchildren; and a special friend Eloise Aldrich of Troy.

Services will be held at a later date. Local arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
