Notice of Application and Public Hearing

The Moses Lake School District submitted an application for Site Plan Review on February 29, 2012.  The application was determined to be substantially complete and ready for review on March 1, 2011.  The proposed project location is the 900 Block of Yonezawa Blvd.  The proposal is to build the Central Washington Regional Transportation Cooperative which includes a new shop and office building for school district bus maintenance, dispatch and transportation department administrative functions.  It also includes a 1,261 square foot covered fueling station, 33,374 square feet of covered bus parking area, and a 22,551 square foot main building, landscaping, parking, storm drainage, utilities, fencing, and signs. Also to be built is the Grant County Skill Center which includes a new technical skills educational building for high school age students.  The new building is two-stories with 43,120 square feet of interior space and 5,974 square feet of covered exterior space, for a total of 49,094 square feet.  There will also be landscaping, parking, storm drainage, utilities, signs, and fencing.

The project has been determined to be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and the following Development Regulations are applicable to the project:  City of Moses Lake Municipal Code Title 17 Subdivisions, Title 18 Zoning, Title 14 Environmental Regulations, and Title 20 Development Review Process; City of Moses Lake Shorelines Management Master Plan.

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this project at 7:00 pm, March 29, 2012 in the City Council Chambers located at 401 S. Balsam.  All interested parties are encouraged to attend and make comment.

Comments on this proposal from public agencies with jurisdiction and comments on the environmental impacts of this proposal will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on March 21, 2012.  Comments from the general public will be accepted up to the date of the public hearing.  Public comment may be provided up to the date of the public hearing.  In addition,
