'Deadly Sins' to profile murder

POST FALLS - A Post Falls murder case involving the deaths of a couple, apparent suicides of the lesbian suspects and the disappearance of a suspect's son will go national this weekend.
Suspects Skye Hanson and Tina Loesch, the daughter of Gary and Barbara Loesch who were found dead in separate incidents in the mid-1990s, will be profiled in a new seven-part series called "Deadly Sins" on Investigation Discovery.
Kris Loesch, Tina's son who would be 21, remains missing after 10 years.
"When you have someone missing, you want to keep a glimmer of hope that he's still around," said Paul Farina, formerly of the Post Falls Police Department and currently with the North Idaho Sexual Offender Task Force.
"This case is personal to a lot of us (investigators)."
The show will be aired at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and at 1 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The channel numbers are: 192, Dish Network; 285 DirecTV; and 168 cable (685 for cable HD).
The local case will consume more than half of the hour-long show, said Van King, executive producer.
"It's a fascinating story of how sinister people can be," King said. "Every man, woman and child are guilty of sin. But this show takes a look at what happens when sin becomes deadly."
This episode includes interviews with Charles Loesch, Tina's brother; Brad Maskell, Kootenai County Sheriff's Department; and Farina.
King worked for "America's Most Wanted" when the case was profiled on that show in 2008.
About an hour after the show, the bodies of Tina Loesch, 37, and Skye Hanson, 44, were found in a vehicle in a mountain area outside Tucson, Ariz., in Pima County.
Police believe both entered into a suicide pact to have Loesch kill Hanson and then Loesch kill herself. The two had been on the run for 10 years.
King said the episode on Investigation Discovery will offer more details on the case than "America's Most Wanted" did when the suspects were fugitives.
Tina Loesch was disinherited from her father's will in 1992 after she began dating her female lover, Skye Hanson.
Loesch's father, Gary, was shot to death while delivering newspapers in Kootenai County in 1995.
Two years later, Barbara Loesch, Gary's wife and Tina's mom was found dead in a hot tub in her Post Falls backyard in an apparent staged electrocution.
Police said greed was at the root of the case, which is also what the episode is about.
Farina said Tina turned $550,000 in insurance from Barbara's death over to Hanson the day after she got the check.
The disappearance of Kris Loesch has become a cold case for the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Farina said hundreds of dryer sheets were found on the garage floor where Hanson and Loesch lived. Hits were made by cadaver dogs, but no bones were found.
