Jorgenson files; Hart has third primary challenger

Update: Mike Jorgenson has filed his candidacy for the state Senate seat in Legislative District 2. He is challenging incumbent Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, for the Republican primary nomination.
Athol Democrat Shirley McFaddan has also filed her candidacy.
Fritz Wiedenhoff, a Republican from Rathdrum, has withdrawn his candidacy for the District 2 Senate seat.
Wiedenhoff has re-filed for House Seat B in District 2. There are now four Republicans seeking the nomination, including Rep. Phil Hart, Jeri DeLange of Hayden, and Ed Morse of Hayden.

Update: Rep. Frank Henderson, R-Post Falls, has a challenger for Idaho House Seat B in legislative District 3.
Jack Schroeder, a Republican from Post Falls, has filed his candidacy documents to be on the May 15 primary ballot.

Update: The primary election for the 3A state House seat now held by Bob Nonini has become a three-way Republican race.
Coeur d'Alene resident Ron Mendive is running against previously declared candidates Fred Meckel and Jeff Tyler.
Nonini is running for state Senate in that district.

A handful of Democrats and a Constitution Party member have made official bids for state legislative offices in Kootenai County.
The deadline to file is 5 p.m. today.
District 4
State Senate
Warren Ducote, Coeur d'Alene, has filed as a Democrat for the state Senate seat now held by John Goedde.
Goedde, a Republican, will also be on the primary ballot.
Jeremy Boggess, an independent candidate, will be on the November election ballot.
House of Representatives
Position A
Ray Writz, a Constitution Party candidate, and Janet Callen, a Democrat, have made bids for the seat now held by Marge Chadderdon, R-Coeur d'Alene. Chadderdon previously announced she is not seeking re-election.
Luke Malek, a Republican candidate, previously filed for the Position A House seat.
Position B
Anne Nesse, a Democrat, has filed for election to this seat now held by Kathy Sims, R-Coeur d'Alene. Sims previously filed her candidacy paperwork.
District 2
State Senate
Shirley McFaddan, a Democrat from Athol, has declared her candidacy.
Incumbent Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, and Republican challenger Fritz E. Wiedenhoff previously filed their paperwork.
House of Representatives
Position A
Cheryl Stransky, a Democrat from Dalton Gardens, has filed her declaration of candidacy.
Incumbent Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens, and challenger Mark D. Fisher, a Republican, filed their paperwork earlier.
Position B
Rep. Phil Hart, R-Hayden, has filed.
He will be challenged in the May primary election by Ed Morse.
Dan English, a Democrat, has also declared his candidacy.
District 3
There are no new filings at this time.
Fred Meckel, of Rathdrum, has filed as a Republican candidate for the state representative's position now held by Bob Nonini, R-Coeur d'Alene. Jeff Tyler, also a Republican, previously filed his declaration of candidacy for the state House seat Nonini now holds.
Nonini is seeking election to the state Senate in the district.
Rep. Frank Henderson, R-Post Falls, is seeking re-election to the 3B House seat.
U. S. House of Representatives - District 1
There are no new filings at this time.
Democrat Jimmy Farris has filed. Previously declared candidates include Republicans, Reed McCandless, of Moscow, and incumbent Raul Labrador. Rob Oates, a Libertarian, has also filed.
