Chiefs fall, remain tied for home ice

SPOKANE - Adam Hughesman scored two power-play goals in the first period to lead the Tri-City Americans past the Spokane Chiefs 4-2 on Friday night in a Western Hockey League game in front of 9,234 at the Spokane Arena.

With Vancouver's loss against Kamloops, Spokane remains tied with Vancouver with 79 points for the fourth and final home-ice advantage seed in the Western Conference playoffs. The teams will play each other in the opening round of the playoffs.

Dominik Uher scored his 32nd goal of the season on an assist from Marek Kalus to pull Spokane within 2-1.

Davis Vandane scored with just over a minute to play in the third period to pull Spokane within 3-2, but Tri-City scored an empty-net goal.

Spokane (35-23-5-4) hosts Kootenay tonight at 7.
