EPHRATA - Terry Brewer is set to retire as executive director of the Grant County Economic Development Council on May 15.
Brewer announced his retirement to the Grant County EDC Board of Directors in July of 2011 so that it would have plenty of time to find a successor.
At the same time Brewer has announced that he will be a candidate for re-election to Position No. 1 at Grant PUD this year.
“As a first term commissioner, I have enjoyed representing all customer classes at Grant PUD and look forward to the opportunity to serve another term with a continued focus on keeping rate increases to a minimum, while focusing on reliable customer service,” he said.
Brewer has been, and continues to be a proponent of fiber to the home. He hopes to see the build out of the PUD’s fiber network continue.
“Grant County has been a great place to work, and my job here at the EDC has taken me places that I never expected to be, and the project success results that we have experienced are well beyond the expectations I had when I began work here in 1997.” Brewer said.
“The people that I have worked with at the Grant County port districts, as well as the elected officials and staff in the cities and towns and Grant County have all been great allies for economic progress.”
Brewer will become President of the Ephrata Rotary Club on July 1
