Moses Lake's Madi Wilks readies for a rebound against the Wenatchee Panthers Feb. 3. Wilks will be participating in the Senior All-Star Classic at Big Bend Community College Wednesday.

MOSES LAKE - Big Bend Community College (BBCC) Lady Vikes are sponsoring the 5th annual Girls High School All-Star Classic. Sixteen high school seniors from Moses Lake, Connell, Quincy, Almira/Coulee-Hartline, Lake Roosevelt, Ephrata and several other eastern Washington high schools will be participating in the event Wednesday.

"The  All-Star event is a great showcase of the best basketball talent the Basin has to offer," BBCC Athletic Director Preston Wilks said. "This game has featured players that went on to play for the Lady Vikings in past years."

Local area high school players scheduled to appear include Heidi Buchert, Kelsey Yenney and Maddie Lotz from Ephrata; Miranda Porterfield, Madeline Isaak and Kodi Noggles from ACH; Marinda Talley from Quincy; Lindsey Christensen from Royal; Dominique Pleaseants from Lake Roosevelt; Megan Booker from Connell and Madi Wilks from Moses Lake.

"This is the last chance for hoop junkies in the Basin to watch their favorite senior players," Wilks said. "We hope the community will come out and continue to support this event."

The game will be played at the DeVries Activity Center on BBCC's campus at 7:30 p.m., and will and feature a 3-point contest at halftime.  Awards for most valuable players from the North and South teams will be presented after the game.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students, and 10 years old and under are free.

Lady Vikes assistant coach Lucy Char will coach the North squad and Jay Dickinson will coach the South team.
