Former NFL player to speak

HAYDEN - The Hayden Chamber of Commerce announced it will have Ryan Phillips, former NFL standout linebacker and University of Idaho alum, speak at the 2012 annual chamber banquet.

Phillips is a local Hayden resident who will be speaking on his experiences as a professional athlete. He has also donated commemorative items to be raffled at the banquet.

Please note that due to a conflicting major event, Lincoln Day Dinner, the date for the banquet has been moved to April 21, 2012.

Additionally, the deadline for nomination for the annual H.A.Y.D.E.N. Awards has been extended to April 6, 2012. These awards recognize the selfless service and noteworthy achievements of individuals representing six different sectors of the Hayden community. The name "HAYDEN" itself is an acronym of the six award categories: H - History or Human Rights; A - the Arts; Y - actions by or for Youth; D - Distinguished community service; E - Education; and N - New or Noteworthy business.

Award nominations should be submitted in writing to the Hayden Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Hayden Awards '12, P.O. Box 1210, Hayden, ID 83835.

The award nominations should include the name, address and telephone number of the nominee; the category of the award and a detailed description of the individual's contributions to the Hayden community.
