ROYAL CITY - If you're interested in vegetable or flower gardening, there's a place for you and your family in Royal City's Community Garden.

Organizer Sharon Chesterman noted that a meeting for all those interested will be held on Monday, March 19, in Room 116, Kathy Schutz's Family and Consumer Sciences room, Royal High School.

In addition to gardeners, Strengthening the Heart of Our Community (SHOC) is looking for volunteers to help with garden ideas and know-how.

The twenty garden lots-each twelve-feet by twelve-feet-are located south of Royal School District's Bus Barn, north of Wildflower Street NE.

Three years ago the garden was developed in cooperation with Royal School District, the City of Royal City, WSU-Extension, and Strengthening the Heart of Our Community. A small fee is charged for each lot; water is on an automatic drip system.

If you are interested, please plan to attend the meeting or call Sharon Chesterman at 346-9482.
