Ross Edward Lingenfelter, 44, lifelong Moses Lake resident passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 surrounded by family at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 31st at 2:00 p.m. at the second pit of the Moses Lake sand dunes. Ross was born on March 29, 1967 in Moses Lake, son of George Lingenfelter and Loretta Ridgway. He was a lifelong Moses Lake resident where he made many friends. He spent the last 24 years working at North Central Construction as a diesel and equipment mechanic. His hobbies included racing BMX bikes in his younger years and playing in the sand dunes. He was an avid off-road enthusiast.
Ross is survived by his son, Steven (Chanda McKinney, mother), Moses Lake; girlfriend, Wendy Swanson; brothers Pat (Elizabeth) Ridgway and David Ridgway, Moses Lake; sister, Cathy (Phil) Reed, Moses Lake; grandmother, Wilda Faye Mason, Moses Lake; uncles, Al & Steve Mason, Alaska; step dad, Kenneth Dunn (KD); nephews, Eric, Nathan and James; nieces, Trish, Teresa, Dera and Thresa. He leaves behind his extended family and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Ridgway, father, George Lingenfelter and grandfather, Dave Mason.
Ross loved spending time with his family and friends. His favorite place to go for fun was the Moses Lake sand dunes. He could often be found tinkering on one of his many off-road toys and enjoyed working with his son, Steven, on their latest project. Ross was a Sand Scorpions member and was known as a fearless trail leader among his many friends at the dunes.
