POST FALLS — The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center is hosting the Post Falls High School art show through April 13.

The opening reception is tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. Admission is free.

There are more than 200 pieces and more than 60 PFHS past and current students represented.

The artwork includes watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, world cultures installation, pottery, drawings and sculptures.

Portraits for The Memory Project will also be displayed. The project is an initiative involving four years as community service for the National Art Honor Society chapter at Post Falls High.

Students create portraits for children and teens from around the world that have been orphaned, neglected or disadvantaged. Given that kids who have been orphaned or neglected usually have few personal keepsakes, the purpose of the portraits is to provide them with a special memory their youth, to honor their heritage and identity and to help them build positive self-image.
