OTHELLO - When the Huskies take to the track today in Prosser, they'll have to perform without the likes of Christine Kirkwood who set the state record in the javelin and was nationally ranked in the event. They will also be without thrower Adrian Garcia. But coach Mandi Perez said she is excited to see how the team will measure up this season.

"Losing Christine is a great loss in every way, and we'll miss Adrian too,"  she said. "We are a very young team this year made up of mostly freshman and sophomores. But they are very eager and work very hard, so I am excited to see how things go."

Some of the kids Perez will lean on this year to keep the Huskies competitive in the CWAC include Aaron Suarez, Marco Pena, Hannah Hayduk, Vanessa Murillo, and Tessa Johnston.
