Chiefs top Ams in regular-season finale

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Dylan Walchuck's power-play goal with a little over 11 minutes remaining gave Spokane the lead for good in a 3-2 win over the Tri-City Americans in their regular-season finale in front of 6,102 at the Toyota Center on Saturday night.

The Chiefs took a 2-1 lead after the first period on goals by Mitch Holmburg and Brenden Kichton. Tri-City tied it at 2 on a goal by Jesse Mychan in the second period. Kichton finished the season as the top point scorer among defensemen in the conference with 74 points.

Reid Gow had two assists for Spokane (38-25-5-4, 85 points), which travels to Vancouver on Friday to open the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Mac Engel had 30 saves for Spokane, which was outshot 32-25.
