QUINCY - Two separate companies are eyeing Port of Quincy land for future purchases.

One company, a fruit packer, expressed interest in buying 9.44 acres for future expansion, said Curt Morris, the port's board chairman, on Friday.

The port and the company haven't yet come to a deal, he said.

Another business, Quincy Valley Fruit Land Holdings, agreed to buy about five acres in Lot 6 to add an apple packing facility.

Port commissioners approved a resolution for a lease agreement with Quincy Valley Fruit Land Holdings, with a purchase option.

The lease amount would be applied toward the purchase price if they decide to purchase, Morris said.

The deal hasn't yet closed.

But when it does, it completes the sale of all land in Industrial Park 2, he explained.

The first tenant of Industrial Park 2 was Microsoft, which bought lots 7 and 8.

Two other lots are owned by a fruit company.

A concrete company, fiber business and ConAgra are also part of industrial park 2
